Dodo Ikire

DODO-IKIRE RECIPE
Ewa ra dodo Ikire 😂😂😂 I can't forget those Hawkers on Osun-Ibadan Road.
Ohh well this is the recipe for the popular Dodo- Ikire…

Ingredients
2 pcs scotch-bonnet peppers (Atarodo)
2 pcs overripe plantains
1 cooking spoon of palm oil
½ tsp salt
1 small chopped onion

Preparing the Dodo-Ikire
·         Chop the peppers and onions into tiny bits (not too tiny tho) and put aside.
·         Then peel the plantain and cut into small pieces like a dice…do not mash it as some of the plantain will already be mashed and mashing it will only make it too soggy.
·         Then combine the chopped mix with the plantain and add the salt to taste.
·         Heat up the palm oil in a pan.
·         Using a tablespoon, scoop the plantain into the oil and fry on both sides till it’s a bit dark on both sides (Don’t let it burn ohhh.. P.S : I hardly leave mine for too long o…I don’t want to eat bitter stuff).
·         And your Dodo- Ikire is ready to be served.. Serve with…umm I dunno…errmm I actually serve with fried dry shrimps sautéed in onions :D

PEPPER SOUP RECIPE

Ingredients
Hake Fish, 500g (Panla Tutu)
1 Large Onion bulb
Pepper soup spice or ground Calabash nutmeg seeds (about 3½)
Chilli pepper to taste or you may use scotch-bonnet peppers
2 bouillon cubes (I use knorr)

Preparing the Pepper soup
·         Wash and chop the onions into tiny pieces. If you have access to scent leaves, you can wash and add them as well to the  soup..normally back at home I’d grind them roughly using a blender..(mum taught me that and it’s much easier that way) and still looks good as well.
·         Then you chop your fish into thick reasonable slices (about 2.5cm thick) and wash removing all the blood stains and some other dirts.. After washing, soak the fish into water and add a little salt to it and stir. This helps the fish absorb some taste and ensures it’s tasty after it has been put in the soup…(this means the amount of salt to be put in the soup will be a little less). After about 30-45 minutes, remove the fish from the water.
·         Place the fish in a pot of water, add the knorr cubes and leave to boil.
·         After it starts boiling, add the pepper soup spice or the ground calabash nutmeg and the blended onions and/or scent leaves and leave to boil.
·         When the fish is done, add very little salt to taste and leave to cook for about 5 minutes
·         And your pepper soup is ready to be served. Serve with white rice, boiled yam or potatoes etc…(P.S : If you are pepperless please take it with chilled drink/water so you don’t burn your tongue) :D

GARRI AND OKRA SOUP

Ingredients 250g Okra Cray Fish, Iced Mackerel Fish, Stock Fish, Dry Fish Beef, Cow tripe (shaki), Cow leg, Chopped Ponmo (cow skin) – Not compulsory Salt and Knorr Cubes Scotch-Bonnet Pepper (Atarodo) Onions Vegetable (Spinach or Pumpkin (Ugwu) leaves) 3 Cooking Spoons of Fine Palm Oil Preparing the Garri (Eba) Garri is ground Cassava. It is a kind of grain. For one serving, a cup of garri should be enough. Hence, in a pot, add a cup of water and leave to boil completely or you can boil water in a kettle, then pour in a bowl. Then in bits, spread the garri in the boiling water and turn with a turning stick. If it's for just one person, you can turn with a spoon; a strong one (Please currently bear with me, I should upload a proper video soon on how to do this). Thanks. Preparing the Okra soup ·           Grate the lady fingers using a grater to enable it to draw. As an alternative, you may chop the lady finger into...
